Protesters Drape Palestinian Flag Around NYC Memorial, Burn U.S. Flag

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators in New York City hung Palestinian flags around the monument while burning American flags.

Early in the evening, about 20 demonstrators were arrested near Madison Avenue and East 83rd Street as a large group of demonstrators marched from Hunter College to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, police officials said.

The crowd walked north on Fifth Avenue, blocking traffic along the way, before being stopped by police at the East 79th Street crosswalk in Central Park.
