Tragic Shooting Incident at Mexican Pyramid
Distressing video has surfaced showing a gunman loading his weapon while perched atop an ancient pyramid in Mexico, as he took aim at terrified tourists.
The footage reveals 27-year-old Julio Cesar Jasso Ramirez wandering through the renowned Teotihuacan ruins on a recent Monday, with several hostages laid out in fear at his feet.
As bystanders below watched in confusion, he appeared to load his gun nonchalantly.
In shocking scenes, Jasso directed the firearm at the crouching hostages, firing off multiple rounds while barking commands.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., he climbed the Pyramid of the Moon, a nearly 2,000-year-old site near Mexico City, historically associated with human sacrifice. There, he shot a Canadian woman dead and left 13 others injured, including several Americans.
Local sources indicate that after sustaining injuries in a confrontation with federal police, the gunman may have turned the weapon on himself.
At the site, authorities discovered firearms, knives, and ammunition, along with an unsettling AI-generated image of the shooter with those involved in the Columbine High School tragedy. This incident coincided with the 27th anniversary of that event.
Out of the 13 injured, seven suffered gunshot wounds, while others sustained various injuries.
Victims taken to the hospital included six Americans, three Colombians, one Russian, two Brazilians, and one Canadian.
According to officials, the youngest victim was just 6 years old, while the oldest was 61.
