Charles' hospitalization comes shortly after his daughter-in-law, Duchess Kate, underwent “planned abdominal surgery” on January 16.

Kensington Palace said in a statement on behalf of the Princess of Wales: “The surgery was successful and she will remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.”

Charles reportedly visited the Princess of Wales in hospital before prostate surgery.

Both hospitalizations encouraged Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to send well-wishes to their relatives, despite their strained relationship.
