NFL Players Celebrate National Anthem Performance

Players from the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams were buzzing with excitement while listening to the national anthem prior to their playoff matchup, as showcased in a video by NFL Films.

Jim Cornelison delivered an impressive rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Soldier Field. Footage captured players joining him on the sidelines, singing along with the crowd, creating a vibrant atmosphere just before kickoff.

Bears defensive lineman Grady Jarrett reacted positively to Cornelison’s performance, expressing his admiration multiple times throughout the clip. Meanwhile, Rams wide receiver Davante Adams was struck by the size of the American flag displayed on the field, remarking to quarterback Matthew Stafford, “This is the biggest flag I’ve ever seen.”

Cornelison’s performance had garnered buzz on social media ahead of the game, with many fans and commentators praising his vocals.

This isn’t the first time Cornelison has made an impact this season. He received a standing ovation when he performed at the Bears’ game against the Minnesota Vikings in September, marking the season’s initial “Monday Night Football” event.

As a regular fixture at Chicago sporting events, Cornelison has been the national anthem singer for the Bears since 2010. He has also performed at various events, including ice hockey games with the Chicago Blackhawks and at the Indianapolis 500 since 2017.

Beyond sports, Cornelison holds a distinguished position with the Chicago’s Lyric Opera Center for American Artists and has performed in notable opera venues worldwide. Additionally, he serves as a board member of the Illinois Patriot Educational Fund and has leadership roles with the Central American Air Force Band.

Ultimately, the Rams triumphed in overtime and will move on to face the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.
