Record Voter Alarm on Migration, Wealth Transfers

The dramatic polls show that public anger over the federal government’s brutal immigration policies is escalating, and that Republican concerns about the fiscal damage caused by immigration are rapidly increasing.

A Monmouth University poll found that 61% of Americans consider federal immigration policy a “very serious” problem, according to the report. press releaseadded the following:

6 in 10 say this is a very serious problem. [prior] The increase was most pronounced among Republicans, from 66% very serious in 2015 to 77% in 2019 and 91% in this poll.

Among independents, 58% say this is a very serious problem, up from just over 4 in 10 who said the same in both 2015 (42%) and 2019 (43%). Among Democrats, 41% now have similar concerns, down from 33% in 2015 to 26% in 2019.

Respondents who say they have a “very” strong reaction to an issue are most likely to vote on that issue.

Another 23% said President Joe Biden’s immigration is a “somewhat serious” issue. In other words, 84 percent of respondents, or 6 out of 7, say Biden’s immigration is a “very serious” or “somewhat serious” problem, according to the data.

But polls from February 8-12 show that most Republicans see Biden’s mass migration not only as a dangerous combination of chaos, crime and drugs, but also as an economic threat to families. It has also become clear that

The poll found that a majority of Republicans (53%) are “more likely than they were nine years ago (39%) to feel that illegal immigrants are taking desirable jobs.”

The 14% rise shows that concerns about immigration’s damage to pocketbooks are rapidly increasing.

Numerous studies and business reports show that immigration allows employers to cut Americans’ wages and transfer that wealth to investors and Wall Street. Immigrants receive a much smaller share of the transferred wealth and are perceived as lower wages.

But Republican leaders have long ignored the economic damage caused by immigration. One reason for this is that party donors strongly support an influx of more foreign workers, consumers and rental housing.

Democrats, by contrast, echo their leaders’ claims that immigrants want to take jobs that their fellow Americans don’t want.

“Democrats (91%) are more likely than in 2015 (70%) to say these immigrants are working jobs they don’t want,” the report says. This 21-point change from 2015 reflects pro-immigration rhetoric from Democratic leaders such as Biden.

Only 27% of independents, who are less politically active than partisans, say immigrants are taking jobs away from Americans.

The Monmouth poll highlights Americans’ growing skepticism about immigration and the 1960s “nation of immigrants” narrative.

According to a CBS poll, 48% of Americans believe Biden’s 5 million southern immigrants will make American society “worse in the long run.” carried out From January 3rd to 5th. Only 22% of Americans (versus 44% of liberals) believe that immigrants improve American society.

Since 2021, Biden has imported one legal or illegal immigrant for every American born.

Monmouth’s employment crisis also exposed class differences in attitudes toward immigration.

Overall, 39% of white respondents without a college degree said immigrants are taking jobs Americans want. But only 21% of white college graduates agree.

The Monmouth poll highlights the growing recognition among mainstream Americans that the government-sponsored influx of legal and illegal immigrants is more of a burden than a benefit to ordinary Americans.

“Illegal immigration has emerged as a defining issue in this presidential election year… [and] “This is Biden’s weakest policy area, including his fellow Democrats,” said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Public Opinion Research Institute.
