Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Celebrates Long-Lasting Marriage
Ree Drummond, known as the “Pioneer Woman,” expresses her appreciation for her enduring marriage, comparing it to a pickup truck. In a recent blog post, she shared that some of her most cherished date nights involve hopping into the truck with her husband, Ladd.
She notes, “We love driving together because we risk sounding like an old couple.” There’s a simplicity and comfort in those drives.
“It’s the peace of the pickup,” she writes. “The diesel engine is like background music, and we’re focused solely on each other. There’s no laptop, device, or TV. It’s the perfect time to catch up.”
During their drives, the couple often discusses anything on their minds. Ladd enjoys looking around and discovering things they might have overlooked before, whether it’s checking out the cattle or the landscape.
Drummond reflects on their trips, saying that their destinations vary each time. Sometimes they cruise along county roads, sometimes they head to nearby towns for a quick stop at a convenience store for snacks.
After nearly 30 years of marriage, they are now empty nesters. Since tying the knot in 1996, they’ve had five children, who are now all adults. Ree shares how this tradition of truck outings began when their kids were younger and how it has evolved as their lives have changed.
“We might not have as much time at home alone now, but there’s something special about those drives that really sparks the best conversations,” she adds, highlighting the unique bond they maintain through these moments together.
