In a recent tell-all book by Peter Schweitzer, The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon was mentioned in a statement by Congressman Brandon Gill (R-Texas) to Breitbart News.
This book, which HarperCollins released on January 20, examines how mass immigration has been utilized to undermine the United States. One pivotal point is the role of Mexico’s consulate in the U.S., which is described as conducting a shadow campaign aimed at influencing American elections in favor of Mexican interests.
Schweitzer, also a contributor for Breitbart News, claims that the Mexican government is “openly interfering in U.S. domestic politics” and collaborating with American political consultants to transform both legal and illegal immigrants into political tools that serve Mexico’s interests.
An example highlighted in The Invisible Coup describes events from February 2017, when former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) visited American cities to mobilize Mexican immigrants against President Donald Trump’s border initiatives. In a bid to counter these policies, AMLO even suggested repurposing the Mexican consulate as an immigration defense office.
According to the authors, “AMLO was not merely supporting immigrants’ legal efforts; he was advocating for electoral change in the United States.” This level of interference by a foreign leader was unprecedented, particularly from a country that isn’t at war with the U.S.
Schweitzer also highlighted concerns about interference from the Chinese Communist Party. He pointed out that a Chinese citizen, born in the U.S. through birth tourism and raised in a communist setting, is now eligible to vote in American elections.
In his provocative book, he discusses how affluent Chinese have taken advantage of America’s birthright citizenship policy. Expectant Chinese mothers travel to the U.S. to give birth, secure citizenship for their children, and then return to China. These children, when they grow up, can return and vote, even enabling their parents to immigrate to the U.S.
On Monday, responding to these revelations, Representative Gill blamed Democrats for enabling such situations. He stated, “For years, Democrats have allowed hostile foreign nations to infiltrate and influence our elections, policies, and institutions. These foreigners have abused our immigration system, undermining our national sovereignty.”
He praised Trump’s efforts as well, noting that the president has effectively curtailed border incursions, deported illegal immigrants, and fulfilled his commitments to secure the borders, which Gill attributes to the Democrats labeling the situation as an “immigration disaster.”
