Rep. Jamaal Bowman promoted conspiracy theories about 9/11, says he regrets spreading work of ‘cranks’

New York Democratic Congressman Jamaal Bowman, who promoted conspiracy theories related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on his blog before he was elected to Congress, says he regrets promoting the activities of “weirdoes”. Says.

“2001/Airplane used as missile/Target: Twin Towers,” he wrote in a poem. “Later that day/Building 7 also/collapsed.” [sic]/Hmm…/Multiple explosions/I heard them before/And during the collapse/Hmm…”

He went on to mention other conspiracy theories related to other aircraft involved in the attack.

“Reported/Two other planes/Pentagon/Pennsylvania/hijacked by terrorists.” [sic]/ The damage was minimal / The debris found was minimal / Hmm…” reads another poem.

In his post, he recommended the films “Loose Change” and “Zeitgeist,” which popularized conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks.

Bowman continued to attack supporters of former President Donald Trump in his comments about the Daily Beast report.

“I don’t believe anything that weirdos say. My life’s work proves that. As a member of Congress, I wrote a resolution in Congress condemning dangerous conspiracy theories and took a stand against MAGA.” Stated. Extremists, and I have called endless bulls*** of the far right. ”

Since winning his seat in Congress, Bowman has tweeted about 9/11 without mentioning conspiracy theories.

He also said that since posting the blog entry, he has learned how misinformation spreads.
