Host Jonathan Karl on Sunday asked political committees to comment on the lack of enthusiasm for re-election among key voters who supported Biden’s 2020 campaign.
NPR White House correspondent Asma Khalid said, “Many voters feel that this election [Biden]. ”
Khalid said he was surprised to hear Democratic voters talk about being “nostalgic” for the Trump era while on the campaign trail.

“What I’ve heard in interviews with a lot of people is that there’s a lack of enthusiasm, even among black voters. You could say they’re like disaffected Republicans. ” she began.
He argued that while there were many factors that led the Democratic base to unite behind Biden in the lead-up to the 2020 election, the current political climate is not as friendly to Biden as it was then.

“I was just in Pennsylvania. I was hearing about the economy nonstop, and people don’t feel good about the economy right now. This nostalgia for the Trump era is something. That’s what I hear from Democrats. “Right now, everyone wants the president to fix everything in their lives, but the president can’t fix everything,” she began.
