Republican Lawmaker Introduces Legislation to Put Trump on $100 Bill

Republican Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) is introducing the law to honor President Donald Trump by placing his commander on the $100 bill.

“We're introducing Golden Age laws to put President Donald J. Trump on a $100 bill. The United States has experienced historic revitalization under President Trump. His legacy deserves immortality,” Gill said on social media.

“Washington. Lincoln. Reagan. Trump. It's time to make history,” he continued.

If this passes, Trump could replace Benjamin Franklin with a $100 bill. However, another major hurdle must be clarified as US laws need to be changed to ensure that living people appear in US currency.

“President Trump was able to spend his Golden Year golf and spend time with his family,” Gill told the outlet.

“Instead, he takes a bullet for this country and is currently working overtime to secure our borders, correct uneven trade relations with the rest of the world, put America first by making America's first by making America's energy independent again and ending useless foreign aid,” he continued, adding that this is simply a “small way of celebrating everything he will achieve the next four years.”

The law itself is titled “The Golden Age Act of 2025.”

“In spite of the previous sentence, no US currency notes will be printed after December 31, 2028. This does not highlight the portrait of Donald J. Trump on the front of the note,” the law reads.

The new Trump $100 bill will be fully rolled out in 2029. However, the bill directs the Treasury Secretary to make the preliminary design publicly available by December 31, 2026.

Gill's pitch, honoring and commemorating the Trump era, evokes the idea that some supporters would carve Trump's portraits on Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, along with images of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
