Republican senator says Biden's 'weakness' on Iran encouraged Israel attack

Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.) said President Biden was wrong to tell Israeli leaders not to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, saying the recent escalation in tensions in the Middle East is a sign of the president's commitment to Iran. He blamed it on his “weakness”.

“The president has no right to tell Israel how to defend itself. In fact, this president has just adopted an appeasement-first policy toward Iran, and that weakness has encouraged Iran to attack its ally Israel. Ricketts said during an appearance on “The Hill on NewsNation.”

Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee recalled that Iran fired 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday in response to the invasion of Lebanon in hopes of finding the supreme leader of the extremist group Hezbollah.

Explained. “Frankly, all these dictators understand is force, and we have to retaliate against them. When Israel does things like this, we We need to support you.”

He argued that former presidents like Ronald Reagan handled the U.S.-Iranian conflict better than Biden.

“Iran is able to generate large amounts of oil money and has used it to fund groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. And that's why they're so brazen, because if we He later added, suggesting the US should sink their ships in the Red Sea.

“We need to launch a counterattack, let Israel decide how to deal with this, and then support them.”
