Rick Barry offers to assist Mitchell Robinson with a simple solution for his free throw struggles.

Rick Barry, a Hall of Famer and notable advocate of underhanded free throws, has taken an interest in Mitchell Robinson’s struggles. He believes he can help improve the Knicks center’s shooting woes.

After observing Robinson during Saturday’s game, Barry expressed disappointment but also confidence, suggesting that with the right technique, Robinson could boost his free throw shooting to 75%. “It’s surprising,” Barry commented. “It’s unfortunate that players struggle with such a fundamental aspect of the game. There’s no defense preventing you from making these shots,” he stated during a recent interview. “Free throws are crucial, and it’s disheartening. Robinson is a prime candidate for switching to an underhand technique. He needs to change his approach, considering his current percentages.”

In the playoffs, Robinson recorded a mere 29% from the free-throw line, and the Celtics have exploited this weakness during games. In Game 3, he managed to make only four out of 12 free throw attempts while playing for just 19 minutes, despite contributing positively in rebounds for the Knicks.
