Florida Sen. Rick Scott, backed by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats who accused Biden of acting as a “little robot,” has accused President Biden of being “lawless” and “open.” He accused the United States of running the country's border.
“The Biden administration is lawless. They don't care what the law is,” Scott said during his speech. sunday interview 77 WABC Radio's “The Cats Roundtable” with host John Catsimatidis.
“Biden wants open borders. I don't know why he wants open borders. I don't know why he wants terrorists in our country. I don't know why he wants criminals in our country. . I don't know why he doesn't care about the rule of law. But Biden doesn't care,” added Scott, a Republican who is running for re-election this fall.
Scott's remarks come as record numbers of migrants enter the U.S. through the southern border with Mexico, as New York City and other metropolitan areas avoid a relentless wave of thousands of asylum seekers bussed into their municipalities. This was done while we were working hard to achieve this goal.
Both the House and Senate are scheduled to debate border security early in the 2024 session, along with funding to help Ukraine and Israel fight their enemies. Republicans have resisted agreeing to start sending aid to foreign countries without agreeing to strengthen border security.
Scott, a former Florida governor, said Schumer and Democrats are carrying water for Biden instead of doing what's best for the country.
“Mr. Schumer is making them act like little robots to get whatever Biden wants. Mr. Biden wants open borders.”
“We have to say, 'We're not going to do anything else, we're not going to fund Ukraine, we're not going to continue funding the federal government, we're not going to do anything, unless we get it safe.' border,” the senator added.
“We don't need new laws…we need law enforcement,” Scott said.
He also attacked Mayor Eric Adams and other Democrats who boast that New York is a sanctuary city where all are welcome.
“Eric Adams and other people in New York City have said that New York City is a sanctuary city. Well, well! I think this is just a sanctuary city on paper, because they believe that New York City is a sanctuary city. “Because they have an obligation to do what they said they would do, and they don't want to fulfill that obligation,” Scott said.
The White House and Schumer had no immediate comment.
City Hall also had no immediate comment. But Adams has repeatedly said immigration is a federal responsibility and that Biden and Congress need to increase funding to help cities absorb tens of thousands of immigrants.
