When CBS host Margaret Brennan decided to “fact check” J.D. Vance was accurately portraying the immigration crisis fueled by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.
“Let me be clear to our viewers: Springfield, Ohio has a large population of Haitian immigrants with legal status,” she said proudly.
Vance was understandably upset about the interruption, saying, “The rules were you don't fact-check me. Since you're fact-checking me, I can't tell you what's actually going on.'' I think it's important.”
He then went on to honestly and forcefully explain what he meant by “legal status.”
“There is an application called the CBP One app where you can continue to operate as an illegal immigrant, apply for asylum, apply for parole, and be granted legal status in Kamala Harris’ open borders wand wave. ”
At that point CBS decided to cut off his microphone.
It was the most embarrassing moment in a long history of embarrassing moments by a host biased against Republicans. They “fact-checked” the truth and then stopped politicians from responding.
When Gov. Tim Walz howled that “illegal border crossings are down compared to when Donald Trump left office,” that couldn't be further from the truth, but don't let anyone pry. His facial expression gave him an even more partisan impression. . Some “facts” are not enough to confirm.

The New York Times also published that Vance's comments “needed context.”
“There is no way for overseas migrants to apply for asylum through an app,” the Times claimed. “However, the Biden administration has established an app through the CBP One app that allows more than 1,000 immigrants a day to book appointments at ports of entry where they can be granted parole and enter the United States. You can apply for asylum through the process.”
ah. So if someone makes a reservation through an app and shows up at the border or airport, they're applying for asylum, right? Is it possible that they will be rejected and sent home? no? Then yes, they are Apply for asylum through the app.
The Times relies on a parsing of phrases so ridiculous that the only word to describe them is “lies.”
What Vance was describing is absolutely, verifiably correct. The Harris-Biden administration does not have the authorization from Congress to simply allow 1,000 people a day, or 365,000 people a year, to cross the border on foot.
Additionally, asylum law requires applicants to apply in the first safe country they enter. The White House is ignoring that rule. Venezuelans can walk around the six countries where they can apply for asylum, and they still do so here. They do not have to stay in Mexico while their applications are processed, as former President Trump had requested.
Needless to say, asylum may be granted not only because of a desire for better economic opportunities, but also because of political, religious, or racial persecution. Process is being exploited. And if Democrats have their way, everyone here seeking “asylum” won't be deported, regardless of whether their claims are successful in the courts.
Yes, Haitians in Springfield have “legal status.” But that's only because Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are. ignore law.
This was televised nationally as an example of why the elite's obsession with “misinformation” and “fact-checking” can lead to horse shit. They don't want to tell the truth. Democrats want to cut off the microphones of people who ask the “wrong” questions or say the “wrong” things. They want to eliminate all opinions that make X, Facebook, and TikTok look bad.
JD Vance was telling the truth about immigration. That's why they had to shut him up.
