Ripple Completes Acquisition of Hidden Road
Ripple has officially finalized its acquisition of Hidden Road, integrating it into Ripple and rebranding it as Ripple Prime. This development is significant, as it marks Ripple as the first cryptocurrency firm to operate a global multi-asset prime broker, aiming to deliver digital asset solutions to institutional clients on a larger scale.
Earlier this year, Ripple expressed its intention to acquire Hidden Road, which operates as a standout non-bank prime broker. This firm provides financial institutions with a comprehensive array of services including clearing, prime brokerage, foreign exchange, digital assets, derivatives, swaps, and lending across fixed income.
Ripple described this acquisition as the beginning of an exciting new phase, noting that since the announcement was made, Ripple Prime’s business has expanded threefold, with expectations of continued growth among current and potential customers.
This latest move is Ripple’s fifth significant acquisition within the last two years. Notable previous acquisitions include GTreasury, a financial management system provider, as well as the stablecoin-based payments platform Rail in August 2025, Standard Custody in June 2024, and the intended acquisition of Metaco in May 2023.
Ripple CEO Comments on New Platform
In a recent tweet, Ripple President Monica Long highlighted the new opportunities tied to the Ripple Prime platform. She pointed out the immense potential it brings.
Long noted, “The opportunities available to Ripple Prime (now Hidden Road) are vast. The future looks bright, as $RLUSD is already being used as collateral for various prime brokerage products, and Ripple Prime is actively exploring ways to utilize XRP.”

Long expressed optimism for Ripple Prime’s future as it looks into various ways to leverage XRP and RLUSD, which already serve as collateral for prime brokerage products.
Ripple’s existing infrastructure, including its payment systems, cryptocurrency custody, stablecoins, and the use of XRP, are anticipated to enhance the services provided by Ripple Prime.
Ripple Prime is also expected to boost the usage and broaden the reach of Ripple’s USD stablecoin, RLUSD. Some derivatives clients have started opting to hold their balances in RLUSD, and that trend is likely to grow in the upcoming months.
