RNC Chairman Joe Gruters: Trump's 'Momentum Will End' if Democrats Secure Midterms

RNC Chairman Warns of Democratic Victory’s Impact on Trump

During a recent segment, Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters expressed concerns that a Democratic win in the upcoming midterm elections could significantly halt President Donald Trump’s momentum.

Gruters pointed out that midterm elections often hinge on negative emotions, particularly anger. He remarked that despite Trump’s achievements, “Trump Derangement Syndrome is real,” and the mainstream media continuously criticizes him. “Every time he does something good, they get even angrier. And their voters will show up,” he noted, while also highlighting a crucial distinction this time around.

He referred to Trump as “the greatest showman that has ever existed,” capable of motivating less likely voters to turn out.

Gruters added, “He said he was going to ravage the country. And I think people may be in for a big surprise in this midterm election. I think the president’s policies and message are widely supported, and I think we’re in a position to pick up some seats.”

He previewed a unique midterm convention, labeling it a “Trumpapalooza,” where Republicans will showcase “some great stories” and highlight “all the amazing policies that the president is pushing that aren’t being addressed.”

Gruters emphasized that it’s essential for the public to know about Trump’s initiatives for the rest of his term, cautioning that if Democrats gain control of the House or Senate, such efforts could be jeopardized. He referred to a potential government shutdown as a consequence of a Democratic majority.

He warned, “They’re going to obstruct. They’re going to impeach. The president’s momentum is going to end. Democrats want chaos; we want momentum. We want Americans to go back to work and retain more of what they earn. This president is committed to this every day, making sure the average American is valued,” Gruters stated.

Despite this, Gruters acknowledged that Trump remains at odds with the establishment media, which often fails to credit him for his successful policies, including popular tax cuts.

“The mainstream media will never trust the Republican Party because they only seek chaos and a lack of momentum from the president. That’s why they ignore it. The president needs to engage the country and we’re trying unique approaches like midterm conventions that have never been attempted before,” he said.

He concluded, “We’re going to ensure people know all the great things the president has accomplished over the next few months.”
