The Republican National Committee and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) have slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for not holding a press conference since taking over from President Joe Biden and entering the presidential race — a feat accomplished without the cooperation of actual voters.
“Day 19: Kamala has not given a single interview or press conference since removing Biden as a candidate,” RNC Research said in X, accusing Harris of repeating the same “well-worn teleprompter speeches over and over again.”

In fact, Harris has given nearly identical speeches to various audiences, adding fuel to the fire as critics have suggested she avoids press conferences and interviews because she’s so bad at going off script. Breitbart News gives a few examples, starting with an excerpt from a speech she gave in Philadelphia:

Vance, former President Donald Trump’s running mate, has criticized Harris for not giving a sit-down interview or press conference since winning the Democratic presidential nomination. On Thursday, Vance pointed out the differences between Trump and Harris, who both held press conferences to answer a range of questions.

Ironically, Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign reportedly “declined a request for comment” about when Harris will stop ignoring or refusing media requests for comment.
Vance said. Breitbart News Saturday Harris has purposely hidden from the media.
“If you put her in front of a teleprompter and tell her what to say, she’s fine. But then she has to actually answer questions based on her knowledge and her interest in policy, and then it kind of sucks,” Vance said, adding, “When she goes out and talks to people, I think it’s pretty clear to everyone that she’s not ready to be president.”
“She’s basically adopted a strategy of hiding from the press and trying to stop people from realizing how ill-prepared she is and how bad her ideas are for the country,” Harris continued.
