RNC releases video ad ahead of convention tying Kamala Harris to border crisis

WISCONSIN — Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance at the border is no laughing matter.

a New Advertisement The Republican National Convention chairman slammed Harris for her role in the Biden administration’s lack of effort to address the border crisis.

“If you’ve ever wondered how Joe Biden was able to make such a mess of the border, remember he had help,” the ad, interspersed with the vice president’s trademark laughter, reads in an exclusive preview by The Washington Post ahead of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday.

The video lists a series of serious missteps in securing the southern border, including President Biden’s decision to appoint Harris as his administration’s “border czar.”

The video focuses on a bizarre NBC News interview in which Harris compared her failure to visit the southern border to not visiting Europe.

The court also criticized her for creating a program while she was San Francisco’s district attorney that allowed illegal immigrant drug dealers to get training for jobs they could not get legally.

“This video reminds Americans that standing next to a weak and failing Joe Biden was his giggling co-pilot, Kamala,” Brian Hughes, a senior adviser to the Republican National Committee, told The Post.

“As Biden’s ‘border secretary,’ Harris continues a long history of putting our communities at risk.”
Border crossings last year reached a record high, with nearly 250,000 border crossing incidents in December 2023.

The new attack ad against the vice president comes amid infighting within the Democratic Party over whether Biden should remain the top presidential candidate this fall, following his disastrous performances in the presidential debates and subsequent media gaffes.
