Joe Rogan Discusses Convincing Trump for Podcast Interview

Podcaster Joe Rogan recently shared his experience of persuading Donald Trump to participate in an interview during the lead-up to the 2024 election.

Some are calling the 2024 presidential race a “podcast election,” noting how Trump’s appearances on various popular podcasts—especially his chat with Rogan in late October—significantly impacted the electoral outcome.

In a fresh interview from earlier this year, Gary Brekka, host of the “Ultimate Human” podcast, explored Rogan’s initial reluctance to bring Trump on his show and what ultimately influenced him to change his mind.

“A lot of things happened,” Rogan reflected. “Firstly, there were legal challenges. They were trying really hard to label him as a criminal, to discredit him. The obviousness of it all was shocking—just all of those constraints they imposed.”

Rogan expressed concern for Trump’s well-being by saying, “If they can target him, they can target anyone—it’s a dangerous precedent.” He described the situation as “insane.”

An attempted assassination incident in Pennsylvania also weighed heavily on Rogan. He likened it to a modern twist on historical moments, suggesting it could have been “Lee Harvey Oswald 2.0.”

Another strong influence on Rogan’s decision to interview Trump was the media’s bias against him. He felt compelled to create a space for a fair discussion.

“People aren’t really engaging with him as a person,” Rogan commented. “Everything’s twisted, taken out of context, which is just gross.” He emphasized the importance of allowing candidates the chance to articulate their plans clearly to the public.

“If you value our judicial system and the electoral process, then the best candidates should have the opportunity to share their ideas. Voters need to hear what they stand for and make informed choices,” he concluded.

After the interview in October, Rogan continued to vocalize his support for Trump as the election approached.
