Michigan and Washington State will battle for the national championship on Monday night, but the roof of NRG Stadium appeared to be leaking as the storm moved through the Houston area.
A video posted to X showed water dripping from the roof near the pylons in Michigan's end zone. The roof was closed, but it didn't seem to keep the elements out.

Sports Illustrated's Richard Johnson I wrote to X Stadium security told The Wall Street Journal's Lane Higgins that the roof was indeed leaking. He added that Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio was passing by and was “just as confused.”
Some areas in the south were under tornado warning due to bad weather. The storm will rage from Texas to Georgia and make landfall in the Carolinas by late evening. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) ranked large areas of the Gulf Coast at Level 3 out of 5 on its thunderstorm risk scale Monday night, according to Fox Weather.

Meanwhile, the weather initially did not appear to interfere with any part of the national championship before kickoff.
It looked like both schools would break out of their slump in the national championship with a win. The University of Michigan hasn't won a title since 1997, and its last national championship appearance was during the College Football Playoff era. Washington was playing its first game of this era, but the Huskies haven't won a title since 1991.
