Roses, love, and a scam: Outrageous 'Bonnie and Clyde' allegedly take from Mon Chéri restaurant after provocative escapade

Reports indicate that robbers not only looted the Arizona restaurant but also had a strange sexual encounter on the premises.

A spokesperson for the Scottsdale Police Department informed Blaze News that officers were dispatched to Mon Cheri restaurant around 10 a.m. on Saturday in response to a robbery report.

Owner Lexi Caliscan expressed her dismay, stating, “The fact that this happened at our facility is very disturbing because we are a very happy and positive place.”

According to the police, around 3:50 a.m., employees noticed on security footage that two individuals had forced their way into the establishment.

Caliskan remarked, “The first thing I saw was that the entire area seemed ransacked. There were items scattered all over.”

She mentioned that the suspects caused damage to two doors, necessitating repairs or replacements, and the cash register appeared to be in bad shape.

Additionally, she reported that the thieves made off with $450 in cash, an iPhone, and a bottle of Bacardi rum.

Notably, before the break-in, the couple engaged in a sexual act inside a floral display on the patio.

Caliskan described the area as “romantic,” highlighting that it features a heart installation popular for Instagram photos. She added that the incident was a “quick exchange” at an eye-catching rose display.

Mon Cheri employee Caitlin Sorensen voiced her disbelief, stating, “We were sabotaged, and who would do something like that? It’s terrible. We just can’t understand it.”

She further remarked, “This is a joyful, positive space, so the occurrence is incredibly unsettling. While we embrace romance and joy, this is not what we represent here.”

A video capturing the couple near the flower display has since been shared online. The security footage was captioned, “Two lovebirds broke into a Scottsdale restaurant this morning.”

The couple was seen having fun with the heart-shaped rose display.

Caliskan was taken aback by the whole situation, noting, “They got caught up in the moment. There were roses everywhere, and as romantic as it was, they were like modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.”

Deputy General Manager Bailey Turner termed the alleged events “bizarre” and “truly violating.”

Caliskan concluded, stating, “They violated our roses, and that’s simply unacceptable.”

The restaurant is currently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects.

Authorities have yet to arrest anyone, with the investigation still ongoing.
