Rosie O’Donnell says Trump’s supporters on the Supreme Court might take away her citizenship

Rosie O’Donnell Talks Trump and Citizenship Threat

On Sunday, Rosie O’Donnell addressed concerns that President Donald Trump’s influence in the Supreme Court could potentially enable him to revoke her U.S. citizenship.

During an interview with “60 Minutes Australia,” O’Donnell reflected on her longstanding clashes with Trump. She mentioned that she suggested relocating to Ireland following his inauguration. The situation escalated when Trump claimed on his social media that he was considering stripping her of her citizenship.

“I’m seriously thinking about taking away her citizenship because Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of this great nation,” Trump stated. “She poses a threat to humanity, and if they want her, they should just stay in the wonderful country of Ireland. God bless America!”

O’Donnell expressed doubt over the legality of Trump’s threats but acknowledged the possibility that the Supreme Court might side with him in this instance.

When Adam Hegerty, the host of “60 Minutes Australia,” reminded her of Trump’s statements, she replied, “That’s what he said. But, you know, that’s unconstitutional for now. Yet, given his influence, he has a pawn in the Supreme Court, and you can’t predict what he might pull off, right?”

Although O’Donnell appeared somewhat skeptical, she pointed out the potential consequences of such actions.

Fox News Digital attempted to get a reaction from the White House regarding this situation.

Last week, O’Donnell had already dismissed the notion that Trump could revoke her citizenship on her social media account. “He can’t do that; it’s against the Constitution. Even the Supreme Court hasn’t granted him that power. The only way someone can lose citizenship is through their own choice, and I would never give that up. I am a proud American citizen,” she stated.

In her “60 Minutes Australia” dialogue, she also touched on the idea of returning to the U.S. for a visit. “I want to go back and see my older kids when it’s safe. There are people in the U.S. advising me on what’s considered safe for me and my family, and I plan to heed their guidance,” O’Donnell noted.
