Rosie O’Donnell’s Plans for Epstein Victims Segment

Rosie O’Donnell recently shared that her proposal to feature victims of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was rejected by ABC during her guest hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She expressed intentions to create a sit-down interview series with these women, although she hasn’t fully decided whether it will be released as a complete documentary on a streaming platform or simply shared on YouTube.

“I initially wanted to reveal the Epstein story on my last night, but they were adamant that it couldn’t happen,” O’Donnell recounted in a recent episode of the Jann Arden Podcast. “So, I thought, ‘Well, I’ll just do it on my own.’”

Even though her segment didn’t air on ABC, O’Donnell took to social media to share a video of her gathering with the women, during which they sang Helen Reddy’s 1972 anthem “I Am Woman.”

As previously covered, she was seen in the footage speaking to Epstein’s victims and expressed her sorrow, saying, “I’m sorry that our country is so messed up.”

O’Donnell shared the video on Instagram on September 3, where she also criticized U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, labeling him as “corrupt.”

The 64-year-old actress noted during the podcast that the clip led many of her fans to mistakenly believe she created a “documentary” about the victims.

“In just a couple of hours, we filmed the entire thing, and then people were asking, ‘Where’s the rest? We want to see the documentary.’ I had to clarify that it wasn’t a documentary; it was something we whipped up in three minutes,” she explained.

“However, I’m in talks with some folks about doing a personal segment for each of those women, where we can delve into their stories—there are eight of them,” she added.

She admitted to feeling uncertain about whether this project would ultimately become a full documentary for a streaming service or just something shared on YouTube or social media.

In other parts of the discussion, O’Donnell took aim at Trump supporters, characterizing them as “people who don’t really grasp what’s going on.”

Podcast host Jann Arden matched her sentiment by suggesting that these supporters often show low literacy levels, while her co-host Caitlin Green mentioned how they have been “radicalized by their iPads.”

Arden further elaborated, saying that Trump supporters are “just sitting there, reading this nonsense.”
