Russia and Ukraine Will Start Talks for a Ceasefire Right Away

Trump Announces Ceasefire Negotiations Between Ukraine and Russia

On Monday, former President Donald Trump revealed that Ukraine and Russia are set to initiate ceasefire talks, possibly at the Vatican.

After a two-hour discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump commented that the conversation had gone “very well.”

He stated, “Russia and Ukraine will soon begin negotiations for a ceasefire and, more importantly, for an end to the war.”

Trump emphasized that the specific terms would be discussed between the parties directly, noting that he is aware of details that others might overlook.

He also mentioned that Russia is on the brink of entering into significant trade agreements with the United States following the establishment of peace. “Russia wants to have massive trade with the US when this devastating ‘Bloodbath’ ends. I agree. Russia has great opportunities to create large amounts of employment and wealth,” he added.

Moreover, he expressed that Ukraine stands to significantly benefit from trade as it works to rebuild after the conflict.

Following his discussion with Putin, Trump spoke with several leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

He noted that the Vatican has shown a strong interest in facilitating negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. “The Vatican, represented by the Pope, says he is very interested in holding negotiations. Let’s start the process!” Trump wrote.

Pope Leo XIV, who recently became the first American pope, conducted his inaugural Mass on Sunday.
