Significant Missile and Drone Strike by Russia on Ukraine

On Saturday morning, Russia conducted a significant missile and drone offensive in Ukraine, resulting in at least three fatalities and numerous injuries, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Ukrainian President Voldy Mir Zelensky reported that the attacks affected nine regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv.

During an official statement, he mentioned, “The enemy’s targets included our infrastructure, residential areas, and businesses,” highlighting that missiles armed with cluster munitions struck the city of Dnipro.

Zelensky further emphasized that these assaults are not merely military tactics but rather a calculated strategy by Russia aimed at intimidating civilians and devastating infrastructure.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, local governor Serkhi Lissak reported that at least 26 individuals sustained injuries from the strikes.

The offensive caused damage to several high-rise buildings and homes in Dnipro, which is located in the east. Additionally, reports from the Kyiv region noted attacks in Bucha, Borispill, and Obukivu, with both houses and vehicles being affected.

In the western region of Lviv, Governor Maxim Kozitsky announced that two cruise missiles were intercepted during the onslaught.

The Ukrainian Air Force indicated that Russia unleashed a total of 619 drones and missiles, comprising 579 drones, eight ballistic missiles, and 32 cruise missiles.

The Ukrainian military successfully neutralized 552 drones, along with two ballistic missiles and 29 cruise missiles during this engagement.

“During the air strikes, our tactical aviation—specifically F-16 fighters—has demonstrated effective responses against the enemy’s cruise missiles. This again highlights how Western weaponry is proving its value on the battlefield,” stated the Air Force in a report.
