Russia carries out large drone and missile strikes on Ukraine, resulting in 4 deaths.

Russian forces conducted a significant drone and missile strike in Ukraine on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of at least four individuals. The primary target was Kyiv, marking the first major air assault since Russia’s extensive attack last month. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city administration, shared this information on Telegram, indicating that the attack also injured 10 others, including a 12-year-old girl among the fatalities.

“The Russians have resumed counting the deaths of children,” Tkachenko noted in a somber statement.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, a total of 595 drones—along with decoys—and 48 missiles were launched by Russia. Thankfully, air defense systems managed to intercept 566 drones and 45 missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes impacted several regions including Zaporidia, Kumernitsky, Mikolife, Chernihib, Odesa, and Kyiv, leaving at least 70 injured nationwide.

“This despicable attack occurred just after the UN General Assembly week, revealing Russia’s true intentions. Moscow continues its campaign of violence, which demands severe global condemnation,” Zelensky expressed via social media.

This recent wave of attacks came on the heels of notable comments made by President Donald Trump during the UN General Assembly, where he indicated a shift in his stance toward Ukraine. Rather than emphasizing a peace agreement with Putin, he encouraged Ukraine to engage Russia with all their efforts.

“I think Ukraine has the opportunity to fight and reclaim its entire territory with EU support,” Trump stated, suggesting that with backing from NATO, the original borders where the conflict started could become a real possibility. “Why not?” he wondered.

These remarks mark a significant change from Trump’s earlier position when he suggested that concessions might be necessary for peace.
