The Russian drone collided with a medical facility in eastern Ukraine and other targets on Friday night. This is an attack that occurs hours after a heated, oval office meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Voldy Mieselsky.
The drones were the second largest city in Ukraine and targeted civilian regions in three districts within Kharkov, which frequently targeted Russian attacks throughout the three years of war. According to Reuters.
At least five people were injured in the Russian military attack, but it was done by eight drones, Regional Governor Ole Snyevbov said in a telegram post.
The attack forced more than 50 people to evacuate the medical centre and sparked a fire in the city, the governor added.
Dozens of other civilian buildings were also damaged by airstrikes.
Another drone attack at Odesa in South Port City Odesa near the Black Sea caused a civilian and business fire, killing one person and injuring another, according to Reuters.
Russia has stepped up its drone attacks on Ukraine as the Trump administration is working to reach critical deals on mineral rights with war-torn countries.
Earlier this week, Russia struck Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. This is more than 300 miles from the frontline of the conflict, with a record 267 drones recorded as the US and Ukrainian governments emerged near the mineral rights trade.
The Mineral Light deal, which the Trump administration considers as a critical step into the ceasefire agreement, was not signed as expected on Friday after Zelensky and his team were kicked out of the White House after an oval office dispute with Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Trump accused his Ukrainian counterpart of “disregarding the United States of America in a elliptical office.”
The president later told reporters that during the meeting, not that Zelensky had not wanted peace, but that he had appeared to him “fight, fight, fight” Russia.
