Ryan Leaf rips Jay Glazer for being a ‘fraud’ and ‘con man’

Ryan Leaf no longer thinks highly of Jay Glazer.

The greatest NFL draft bust of all time slams former ally Glazer as a “fraud” and “fraud” in a quote tweet with an X above a tweet of Glazer and Michael Phelps discussing mental health I called it with the proper word.

“Glaser is a con man when it comes to anything related to mental health and wellness. He uses it for his own benefit and doesn’t actually invest in it unless it benefits him and his brand. I won’t.” Leaf tweeted Monday morning.. “Phelps is an inspiration but it gives me pause that he has that con artist messing with his mind. 🤷🏻‍♂️”

Leaf’s accusations are certainly shocking and clearly off-base, as the former quarterback provided little context as to why he feels that way about Glazer, a Fox NFL insider.

Glazer is known as a mental health advocate and author of the self-help book “Unbreakable,” but the latest accusations belie that reputation.

And it wasn’t that long ago that Leaf and Glazer were on good terms.

Leaf, the No. 2 pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, previously praised Glazer for helping him get into the media business.

In 2019, Glaser praised Leaf for turning his life around after suffering addiction, attempted suicide and multiple stints in prison.

“This is what I say to him and to others: If you had screwed up like Peyton Manning, a lot of the people he saved would have died, so you was put here to help people,” Glazer said of Leaf. He was drafted one spot behind Manning.

“That’s as harsh and honest as I can tell. He’s saved so many extraordinary people… These veterans just connected with him. There were a lot of veterans [who] Even if I wanted to kill myself, Ryan would just call or text me. [them] They needed their big brother’s back, so at the right time. He also personally went into the area to pull our veterinarians out of drug houses. He is the epitome of service to others. …He is the unlikeliest angel you can imagine. ”

out kick Glazer’s reaction to the possibility of working with Leaf years ago led me to speculate that it was a long-standing grudge from Leaf to Glaser.

Leaf said. Rich Eisen He talked about how he wanted to work with Nate Boyer, who partners with Glaser at MVP Division, which helps veterans and former athletes after their careers are over.

“I remember him coming in and talking to Jay and saying, ‘I had breakfast with Ryan Leaf this morning and I wanted to come in,’ and Jay was like, ‘No, no.’ . Don’t bring him here,’ Leaf said.

But Leaf acknowledged after a few seconds that most people would have had that impression of him at that point in his life, before praising Glaser as having a “big heart.”

Leaf said, “From that moment on, Jay became probably my biggest supporter, not only in terms of my health but also in terms of my career.”
