‘Sanctuary city’ raid rounds up over 200 migrant criminals: ICE

The U.S. Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) has announced that the massive operation in Massachusetts has resulted in the arrest of approximately 400 people, including over 200 illegal immigrants who have been seriously criminally convicted or charged.

“Commonwealth is a safer place for residents to live and work as ICE and federal law enforcement partners arrested hundreds of foreign criminals and removed them from Massachusetts streets.

The operation, which took place between March 18th and March 23rd, won the arrests of 370 illegal immigrants in the Boston area. Of those, 205 of the arrested migrants had “a serious criminal conviction or charge,” the release said, including six “currently facing charges or convictions for murder, drug trafficking, organized crime and money laundering.”

The six-day operation targeted “Awful Criminal Foreign Criminals,” a release note that includes members of the MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, which were operating “in and around Boston.”

The raid came despite Boston's status as one of several so-called “sanctuary” cities that restrict local cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

Boston's Democratic mayor Michelle Wu vowed to double these recent policies and continue to protect illegal immigrants in the city during the city's speech last week.

“No one tells Boston how to care for us, not the king, but the king. It's not the president they think is king. Boston was born of a bully,” she said.

“You belong here,” she told immigrants.

“It is important to protect the integrity of immigration and citizenship processes. We cannot allow violent and dangerous offenders to enter or stay in the United States, pretending to be false with unknown loyalty and intentions.

Those arrested for the surgery included Dominican immigrants who illegally re-entered the United States after being previously charged with trafficking fentanyl.

Federal authorities also seized about 44 kilograms of methamphetamine, five kilograms of fentanyl and 1.2 kilograms of cocaine during the attack.

“ICE and our federal law enforcement partners are committed to protecting our hometowns through eradicating cross-border criminal organizations, dismantling dangerous criminal gangs that prey on Americans, finding and arresting foreign criminals, and making our communities safer,” Hyde said.

Wu's office did not immediately respond to requests for Fox News digital comment.
