The idea for Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Berkley was to give his teammate a Budlight gift truck.
The highly publicized stunt last week was the latest move to rehabilitate the brand's image following the Dylan Mulbany blunder. And it followed a massive ad splurge from Anhauser Bush, the parent company of this year's big game, experts said.
Berkley was photographed I shot a can of beer In the Eagles' locker room following the defeat of two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX on February 9th.
Beerkeley's video goes viral, with knowledgeable sources on the situation taking Penn Beer, a local distributor in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, to reach out to the former Giants who jumped to the asshole. I told the post that I was inspired. He rushed for 2,005 NFL high yards during the season with his rivals.
“I want to thank the offensive linemen over drinking beer,” the Funchion family, the owner of Penn Beer, suggested to Barkley, according to sources.
Funchions “takes great pride in this victory and with Saquon, a Pennsylvania alumnus,” the source added.
Berkley jumped at the idea.
On the day Philadelphia fans toasted the Eagles at the Super Bowl Parade on February 14th, five bad light branded trucks delivered bubbles to Berkley's pass clearing linemen: Cameron Jurgens, Lane Johnson, Mekibekton, Jordan Meer, Landon Dickerson.
Each track had about 90 bad lights, about 2,160 cans and more brew than Berkley had accumulated during the stellar regular season.
In addition to the truck, Beale has rebranded “Bird Light” to honor the Eagles as part of the PR Blitz.
“A spark like this will only help Bud Wright return to his local level,” Bump Williams, who runs the consulting company of the same name, told the Post.
It's not clear who paid about $11,000 for a 10,800 can of beer cans, but Williams speculated that Anheuser-Busch likely covered some of the costs.
“I'm sure they knew about it and helped me,” he said.
David Steinman, executive editor of Beer Marketer Insights, added: “It's a great gesture, but it's not that flashy in terms of actual money.
Penn Beer and Anheuser-Busch did not respond to a call for comment.
A representative for Barkley declined to comment.
Bud Light continues to rehabilitate its image, so it can use positive advertising.
The past two years have seen the reins of two years as the country's top seller beer became ignorant in 2023, which has been a financial and PR nightmare for the brand, followed by a false ties with Mulbany. .
The transgender influencer was sent a customized Bud Light Tall Boy featuring images of Mulbany promoted by her while sitting in the bathtub as part of the NCAA Basketball March Madness Campaign.
It soon followed a nationwide backlash and boycotts by prominent conservatives, including Kidlock.
However, the sudden decline in sales and market share have been levelled, Williams said.
According to Bump Williams Consulting, Bud Light is currently ranked third in volume, third total dollar sales, after Modelo and Michelob Ultra.
“We've seen it hit bottom from the loss of bud light,” Williams told the post, adding that Berkley's PR stunt “helps.”
Anheuser-Busch is turning the page in relation to Mulvaney and is about to buy five ads on the beer roster during the Super Bowl.
They included a more macho commerce commercial featuring two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Payton Manning, comedian Shane Gillis and singer Post Malone at the “Caldessac Party.”
Barkley supports Bud Light in other ways.
Before the Super Bowl Parade he was seen Carry a bad light case While he was interviewed as he got on the Eagles bus.
“I have to get a little more liquid with my system before I go there,” he told ABC affiliates, referring to his upcoming speech to fans.
But Berkley's beer delivery wasn't going down smoothly with rival local Pennsylvania brewers.
David Casinelli, Yuengling Beer's chief strategy firm, noted that most canned beer have a shelf life of around four months, so Eagles linemen need to open gifts fairly quickly.
“It's almost crazy,” Kasinelli posted. “What do you do with a beer truck sitting in your driveway?”
