Texas Sees Increase in Indian Immigrants

Texas is experiencing a significant rise in its Indian immigrant population, making it the largest Asian immigrant group in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This growth is largely attributed to the state’s active H-1B visa program, especially in its booming technology, IT, and engineering sectors, where Indians receive around 70% of all H-1B visas granted in Texas.

Given this context, it’s not unexpected that most of the H-1B fraud cases reported or investigated in Texas in recent years involve Indian nationals or businesses predominantly catering to Indian workers.

Investigative work by Blaze TV’s Sarah Gonzalez has brought to light various Indian-owned companies that are suspected of fraudulently claiming H-1B sponsorship for workers. Her findings have prompted actions such as Governor Greg Abbott’s halt on new H-1B hiring in state agencies and universities, as well as Attorney General Ken Paxton’s investigations and lawsuits against numerous suspicious companies.

However, Gonzalez’s concerns about the growing Indian community in Texas extend beyond just issues of fraud.

“All these people come here, whether legally or illegally, to exploit our system, inflate housing costs, and take advantage of our neighborhoods. It’s quite alarming,” she remarks.

She cited a story shared online about an Indian man engaging in public defecation in a Texas neighborhood, which horrified her, though she didn’t find it entirely surprising.

“Do you think they’ll change their behavior once they arrive? Of course, they won’t,” she said. “They have no respect for our country. They come here to take advantage of it.”

“This isn’t the first report we’ve seen of Indians or other immigrants disregarding our societal norms, such as urinating right outside their workplace,” she added.

“You can take someone out of India, but taking India out of them? Clearly, that doesn’t happen.”
