The state-run Saudi Press Agency gave no details other than to say that he would be admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah. He was then discharged from the hospital.

King Salman ascended the throne in 2015 and has since promoted his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to become the kingdom’s next monarch. It is widely believed that the crown prince runs the day-to-day affairs of the kingdom.
