President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Harmeet Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights.
“This is one of President Trump's best choices,” Liz Wheeler says. “I don't know if there was a fighter who was more passionate and effective than Harmeet Dhillon.''
In his announcement about X, President Trump said of Dillon:
“Throughout his career, Harmeet has consistently stood up to protect our cherished civil liberties, including confronting Big Tech that censors free speech and fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Representing Christians whose influence has prevented them from praying together. Harmeet is one of the nation's top election lawyers and the only legal one. We are working hard to ensure that every vote is counted.”
Liz also echoes President Trump's words. “There's probably not a single prominent figure in the conservative movement, whether it's a politician or someone like me in the media, that Harmeet hasn't supported behind the scenes in some way.”
“She's so dedicated and so smart,” she added, “and no matter how busy she is, she's willing to sit down and listen and talk and help people who need it.”
