Washington school districts have put the matter into their own hands after the Blue state refused to comply with President Donald Trump's recent “No Men in Women's Sports” executive order.
The Tumwater School District board voted Thursday to ban Trans Girls from playing women's sports teams. The resolution was voted 3-1.
Board member Jill Adams abstained, but he worked on Trump's executive order banning transgender women from participating in girls and women's sports.
“Many of us may oppose executive orders, but we are us because school board members get caught between rocks and difficult places,” Adams said. “I support different perspectives and different ways of life, but that's difficult. It's not rock, it's caught between rock and hard surfaces.”

High school athletes in Washington are currently allowed to compete based on gender identity rather than biological sex. WIAA's policy states that each athlete will participate in a program that “matches gender identity or the most consistently expressed gender” with no medical or even legal requirements. “Our state laws make it clear that children can identify and participate based on the gender they identify. We support that law.”
