Scientist Gad Saad discusses why conservatives tend to be happier than liberals

Psychologists Find Conservatives Generally Happier Than Progressives

On a recent episode of Sean Hannity’s podcast, evolutionary psychologist Professor Gad Saad delved into the differing happiness levels between conservatives and progressives. He presented findings suggesting that conservatives often feel happier due to their appreciation for fundamental social values. In contrast, he noted that progressives tend to grapple with “existential anxiety,” linked to their concerns about societal injustices.

Saad discussed research indicating that conservatives typically report greater happiness than their left-leaning counterparts. He speculated that this difference arises from their respective views on society. “It makes sense,” Saad mentioned, suggesting that conservatives experience a sense of security. While society isn’t perfect, conservatives are grateful for their freedoms and essential values, which they feel are worth defending.

In contrast, he pointed out that progressives often wake up feeling anxious about issues like transphobia, racism, and various forms of bigotry. This focus on social problems, according to Saad, can lead to dissatisfaction and an overall sense of unease.

As an evolutionary behavioral scientist and professor at Concordia University, Saad also touched on the concept of “suicidal empathy.” This idea suggests that an excess of compassion could potentially harm Western societies.

During their discussion, Hannity and Saad explored themes such as rights, socialist economic policies, and the psychological implications of taxation, while touching upon the growing issue of anti-Semitism worldwide.

The podcast Hang Out with Sean Hannity aims to provide in-depth conversations with various news figures and is available on multiple platforms.
