Justin and Christian Combs, the sons of Sean “Diddy” Combs, have shared plans for a new documentary series that revisits their father’s federal trial.
In a widely covered case earlier this year, Diddy was found guilty of transportation related to prostitution. This trial included charges from two former girlfriends who alleged sexual assault and coerced participation in what they termed a “freak-off.” He was cleared of two more serious accusations: racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
Now, it seems Justin and Christian want to tell their own perspective. In a trailer released on Sunday, the brothers can be seen reviewing courthouse footage, while various questions and comments about their father come up. The trailer concludes with a phone call to Fort Dix, where Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence.
Lemuel Plummer, the CEO of Zeus, made a statement clarifying the network’s stance on the documentary. He mentioned that this series allows the brothers to convey their personal experiences. “We’re not here to endorse Diddy or anyone else,” he added, emphasizing their commitment to giving individuals a platform to share their stories.
This series isn’t the only documentary surrounding Diddy’s trial. There’s also a project from Netflix and 50 Cent titled Sean Combs: Liquidation, focusing on events leading up to Diddy’s arrest.
Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, this Netflix series includes “intimate footage” from Diddy’s last six days before his arrest. It portrays him making calls to seek collaboration with those involved in “the dirtiest businesses,” revealing a sense of realization about his circumstances, as he stated, “We’re losing.”
Diddy’s representatives have criticized the Netflix project, calling it a “disgraceful hit” and asserting that the footage was obtained unlawfully, a claim denied by Netflix. In response, a Netflix spokesperson clarified that all footage was legally acquired and labeled the project as neither a blockbuster nor retaliation, stressing that Curtis Jackson holds no creative control and that no participation fees were given.
Diddy is set to be released in May 2028.
