Controversial music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly living quite lavishly in Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey. Despite being behind bars, he allegedly enjoys luxuries like access to a cell phone, alcohol, and individuals catering to his every whim, according to reports from NBC News.
Serving a 50-month sentence for offenses related to prostitution, the 56-year-old spends thousands monthly to maintain his extravagant lifestyle in prison. Four inmates who were in the same unit described Diddy’s life to NBC, under the condition of anonymity.
“This isn’t your typical prison stuff. It’s some rich stuff,” one of the men mentioned. “It’s wild, but hey, it’s Diddy.”
Sources revealed that the “Bad Boy for Life” artist has fellow inmates at the low-security prison who cook, clean, and handle his laundry, along with someone providing him with massages. I mean, it’s almost hard to believe, right?
Moreover, Combs reportedly makes use of contraband cell phones to browse Instagram and receive nude photos from an ex-girlfriend, all while stuck at the all-male federal facility.
He even possesses a “jailbroken” tablet, which he reportedly uses to watch movies, including a docuseries about himself produced by 50 Cent.
Interestingly, Diddy has also spent money on other inmates’ prescription medications, which are a popular item in the prison’s black market, according to the sources. “You can find nearly everything except a key to the front door and a woman,” one inmate stated.
On weekends, Combs is said to indulge in a hidden stash of premium alcohol brought in by guards, sharing drinks with a select group of fellow inmates. One inmate recalled, “Oh yeah, I drank Hennessy with him.”
To sustain his luxurious existence in prison, the former billionaire has money sent from the outside to the commissary accounts of inmates who assist him. One of the men mentioned that he cleans the areas Diddy uses.
Some inmates have even taken to preparing special meals for him with a makeshift heating element, cooking dishes like curry chicken and pizza. One man admitted that he eventually stopped cooking for Combs, stating, “He started going to the Jamaicans.”
Other inmates simply handle his phone and fan mail, given the sheer volume he receives. “He gets so much mail, he doesn’t have space for it,” one source explained.
Diddy was convicted in July 2025 on two counts related to prostitution but was acquitted on several other charges, including sex trafficking. His legal team had requested a transfer to Fort Dix due to its reputed drug treatment program, hoping this might lead to a shortened sentence.
Upon his arrival, he reportedly entered the program, but sources claim he quickly began acquiring contraband and expanding his network of inmates assisting him. “Pretty much from day one, the party began,” one insider shared.
After a physical altercation that led to his placement in solitary confinement, he was later removed from the drug program. Still, once released from isolation, he returned to a lifestyle of luxury with his team of inmate helpers—something that money can certainly buy in prison.
One source noted, “He’s a billionaire. People are just amazed by him. Money holds a lot of power, especially in prison.”
Though initially deemed a billionaire by a financial expert in 2022, Diddy’s net worth is now believed to have dropped to between $300 million and $400 million.
In response to the media coverage of his prison life, a spokesperson for Combs stated that the focus on the mundane aspects of his existence has escalated to the point where it’s being treated as news. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal,” the spokesperson added.
News of Combs’ luxurious prison lifestyle comes shortly after reports surfaced that his release date has been moved up again. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has indicated that his new release date is now set for January 21, 2028, a change from the original June 2028 date.
