Sean “Diddy” Combs’ release date was advanced by a month following an altercation with another inmate.
According to Page Six, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that his release has shifted from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028.
A representative for Combs declined to comment on the situation.
Combs, aged 56, is currently serving a four-year sentence at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Facility in New Jersey due to charges related to prostitution.
Reports from TMZ indicated that the well-known rapper had a heated exchange with another inmate, reportedly feeling disrespected. He “took matters into his own hands,” as the source put it.
During the incident, prison staff intervened to separate the inmates, subsequently placing Combs in a cell.
It’s said that Combs “just stuck to his guns” throughout the confrontation.
A spokesperson for FCI Fort Dix stated that they cannot disclose any personal information regarding inmates, emphasizing the need for privacy, safety, and security.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons echoed this, stating they do not comment on disciplinary issues or details about individual inmates.
In October 2025, Combs received a 50-month prison sentence for two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution, and he was moved from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to Fort Dix.
Initially, Combs’ release date was set for May 8, 2028, but was later postponed to June 4, 2028, due to multiple violations of prison rules.
Additionally, he reportedly faced issues with prison authorities for allegedly consuming homemade alcohol and was later arrested for participating in an unauthorized three-way phone call.
Combs asserted he was unaware that such calls were against the rules.
Interestingly, his release date had previously shifted to February 23, 2028, prior to the recent fight.
Combs filed an appeal against his sentence back in December, requesting immediate release or a reconsideration of his conviction, as documented in court filings.
However, prosecutors opposed this appeal in February.
Since his arrest in September 2024, Combs has continued to navigate legal challenges tied to multiple charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
Last July, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation for engaging in prostitution, while being acquitted of other charges.
