The rapper appeared in court on Wednesday and posted $50 million bail to avoid incarceration at Brooklyn's notorious Metropolitan Detention Center, but his request was rejected by the judge.
According to peopleThe rap mogul was placed on suicide watch as a “precautionary measure” in 2018. Diddy's lawyers argued Wednesday that he is not a dangerous person or a flight risk, but the judge was not convinced.
Combs has been held in a federal detention center in New York City since Monday night and is being closely guarded by Metropolitan Detention Center security guards in case he harms himself, multiple sources said.
Prosecutors released text messages that Diddy allegedly sent to Ventura after he attacked his ex-wife, Cassie Ventura, in 2016, arguing that Diddy should remain in jail pending trial.
Didi allegedly said, “Call me, the cops are here. I have six kids. You call me. I'm surrounded. Are you going to leave me alone?”
Meanwhile, the defendant's legal team is considering additional legal action to get the defendant released before trial.
Currently, the rap mogul is facing three felony charges dating back to 2008 including racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution.
