Hannity Criticizes Newsom’s Loyalty to Biden
Sean Hannity expressed strong disapproval of Gavin Newsom, labeling him a “propagandist” for the ailing former President Joe Biden. This came after Newsom referred to Biden as a father figure during a recent event promoting his memoir, “Youth in a Hurry.”
Hannity found it “disgusting” that Newsom remained silent about Biden’s cognitive decline, particularly in light of the former president’s halted 2024 re-election campaign, which raised serious concerns about his mental health.
“You were one of Joe Biden’s biggest propagandists during his campaign. Even after the disastrous debate, you kept quiet about his condition. Gav, do you recall the email you sent me?” Hannity remarked in a post.
He continued, “Then you went on national television and flat-out lied for him.”
Additionally, Hannity criticized Newsom’s immigration policies, suggesting they allow “millions of unvetted illegal aliens,” including criminals, into the country.
Newsom’s team responded, noting that his loyalty to Biden is evident, reflecting comments he made at an event in South Carolina where he reiterated that Biden is like a father to him. “Sean Hannity is in complete meltdown because Governor Gavin Newsom has been loyal to President Joe Biden even when it was politically inconvenient,” Newsom stated.
He added, “Loyalty is incomprehensible to someone like Sean. His career thrives on manufactured panic and nightly outrage.”
Despite the criticisms, Newsom has remained one of Biden’s most steadfast supporters, even after Biden’s poor debate performances raised alarms about his candidacy. Biden eventually withdrew from the race in July 2024 and backed then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
During an event in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he appeared alongside former Democratic National Committee Chairman Jamie Harrison, Newsom defended Biden vehemently. “I will never, ever, ever turn my back on Joe Biden. It’s a matter of character,” he emphasized.
Newsom also reflected on a heartfelt conversation he had with Biden in San Francisco about Hunter Biden’s struggles, drawing parallels to his own father, Bill Newsom, who shares a similar background.
In closing, Newsom reiterated, “I will never turn my back on President Joe Biden.”
