Two New York State Police vehicles were struck by a suspected drunk driver while investigating separate drunk driving incidents.
According to the release According to the New York State Police, two police officers were struck by a 2004 gray Toyota RAV4 on a parkway in Babylon, New York, on Saturday, November 16, at approximately 12:00 a.m., according to the New York State Police.
The accident occurred as two officers were investigating a 2018 GMC Arcadia that crashed into a Department of Transportation light tower in a work zone.

Authorities said Jakaran Ramlokum, 72, hit a police car while investigating a separate incident.
Police said the first car crashed into the second car.
Photos from state police show the cruiser and SUV sustained significant damage after the crash.

Officers went to the aid of the civilians involved in the accident, but later realized they themselves had sustained minor injuries.

All involved were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

New York State Police called the incident “unfortunate” and warned drivers not to drink and drive.
