Two New York State Police vehicles were struck by a suspected drunk driver while investigating separate drunk driving incidents.

The accident occurred as two officers were investigating a 2018 GMC Arcadia that crashed into a Department of Transportation light tower in a work zone.

Authorities said Jakaran Ramlokum, 72, hit a police car while investigating a separate incident.

Police said the first car crashed into the second car.

Photos from state police show the cruiser and SUV sustained significant damage after the crash.
