Actress Selma Blair received a federal summons after she allegedly assaulted a flight attendant on a Delta Air Lines flight on Sunday.
She is also accused of assaulting a police officer and a nurse, according to reports.
The summons includes charges for “assault within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States.”
During the flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport, Blair reportedly punched one flight attendant and bit another. There were claims that she attempted to open the aircraft’s door while still airborne.
Audio obtained suggested that emergency medical personnel were requested to assist at the gate after landing due to minor injuries, including a bloody nose and bite marks.
It appears that amid the chaotic incident, she may have hit her head against a bulkhead.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey indicated that two flight attendants reported injuries, one with a laceration that required hospitalization and the other with a bite mark.
Reports indicated that Blair was restrained on the plane and taken into custody upon landing, although the situation escalated further.
In details shared later, law enforcement claimed Blair kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head while being transported via ambulance. Additionally, she allegedly assaulted a nurse once they arrived at the hospital, prompting the nurse to consider pressing charges.
Blair is currently hospitalized for evaluation as the FBI investigates the incident. A representative for her stated that she experienced a medical emergency prior to the events that transpired.
The spokesperson noted that she received immediate medical care after landing and is now in stable condition.
Blair is widely recognized for her roles in films like “Cruel Intentions,” “Legally Blonde,” “The Sweetest Thing,” and the “Hellboy” series.
