Democrat Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin implied that her “war plan” to counter President Donald Trump and seize political control in Washington, D.C., would not be enough to seize control of the Senate at least in 2026.
Slotkin is a freshman democratic senator. I was led The party’s rebuttal to Trump’s joint speech to Congress in March acknowledged the party’s deep challenges to break out of the party’s minority minority. Interview Politico was released on Thursday. Slotkin said Democrats should focus on recapturing the House, and her “definition of success” for the Senate would retain the 47 seats Democrats already hold. (Related: Democrats have driven city budgets red for years. Now that tab is finally scheduled.)
Slotkin said the best scenario for Senate Democrats would be to add one or two seats, but he would still place several seats in the meeting other than forming the majority.
Michigan Democrats’ candidacy about her party’s election outlook appears to be directly inconsistent with Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer’s promise that Democrats will seize Senate control in the mid-term.

Slotkin’s attempt to bring Democrats back on the path to successful elections involves a major change in the party’s perception among voters who rejected Democratic candidates in the ballot box in November.
The senator said the way Democratic candidates communicate with voters must change the way they communicate, project strength and reject the politics of identity. According to Slotkin, elected Democrats will need to stop being “weak and awakened” and emulate “Godham Alpha Energy” by Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell.
Despite advocating a fundamental change in the party’s message, Slotkin did not appear to call on Democrats to ease their policy stance.
Lawmakers voted specifically for Senate Democrats to block GOP-checked laws banning biologically male athletes from women’s sports and imposing sanctions on ICC officials, seeking the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Senate Democrats suffered another blow Friday with Democrat Manette Mills. announcement That she is not going to oppose Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins. Some I saw it As one of the strongest candidates in the party that kicks out Mills, 77, Collins.
“The decision of Senator Durbin’s retirement and the three other Senate Democrats to quit is clearly known to Janet Mills that Americans have long known: Democrats are crushed beyond repairs,” Senators’ Leadership Fund Communications Director Chris Gustafson said in a statement Friday. “Democrats have been bored from this recruitment failure and are fighting over the direction of the party, but Sen. Susan Collins continues to deliver results for Maine’s people with effective and proven leadership.”
Slotkin’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
