Sen. Fetterman Stands Firm on Israel Support
Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, expressed on “The Ingraham Angle” that he is ready to stand alone in his support for Israel, even if it means being the only member of his party to do so.
Fetterman’s steadfast allegiance to Israel highlights a divide among some Democrats who are increasingly critical of Israel’s military actions against Palestine. Some in the party are advocating for stronger support for Palestinians amid ongoing conflicts. “If necessary, I will be the last one standing as Democrats continue to abandon Israel,” he stated emphatically.
He defended Israel’s military operations, saying they have not made any mistakes in their joint efforts with the United States against Iran and Lebanon. Recently, Israel and Lebanon reached an agreement for a temporary ceasefire.
When questioned by host Laura Ingraham about any missteps Israel might have made, Fetterman responded, “No, absolutely, absolutely not,” emphasizing that Israel acted as it deemed necessary.
While some Democrats have criticized Israel’s bombardment in Gaza due to the resulting casualties and ongoing occupation, Fetterman appears prepared to diverge from his colleagues on this issue. “Honestly, I’m the last Democrat who can proudly support Israel,” he remarked, acknowledging the unpopularity of Israel in polls but reaffirming his pride in backing the nation.
He also lauded Donald Trump’s Operation Epic Fury, expressing confusion over why Democrats fail to recognize the benefits of this campaign against Iran.
Fetterman described Iran’s leadership as “an evil regime,” advocating for its removal as a significant positive step. “We may disagree as a party on this issue,” he noted, “but at this time we should all support the military.”
The senator raised concerns over Democrats pursuing a war powers resolution more than 45 days into the conflict, especially after Trump suggested the situation was nearing resolution. This resolution would limit the President’s ability to engage the U.S. in military action without Congressional consent.
“Why would we vote day in and day out at this point?” Fetterman questioned. “We’re very close to shutting this down at this point.”
Additionally, he reiterated his commitment to Israel as a “special ally” of the United States, encouraging influential figures to target their criticisms toward Iran instead. “America is not perfect, but like Israel, we are a force for good,” he concluded, urging, “If you have a platform and you want to criticize someone, criticize Iran, criticize Hamas, criticize Hezbollah.”
