Sen. Markwayne Mullin Attributes Trump’s ‘Firm Leadership’ to Easing Tensions Between India and Pakistan

Senator Mark Wayne Marin (R-OK) stated that the Trump administration responded rapidly regarding the tensions between India and Pakistan, ultimately facilitating a ceasefire agreement. He also expressed that, had President Trump been in office, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia might not have occurred.

“What’s striking is how swiftly they acted,” the senator noted, highlighting a “complete and immediate” ceasefire declared by President Trump.

“There has been ongoing tension between India and Pakistan for a long while. But, you know, both nations are nuclear-armed, so the situation can escalate quickly,” he pointed out.

“The Trump administration took immediate action on this matter. Rubio went there promptly, and both the Vice President and President were involved,” he remarked.

The senator mentioned that on Thursday, they were alerted that a deal was “very close” due to the rapid ceasefire. He added that while tensions persist, the primary concern was alleviating immediate conflict.

“The main point was that they weren’t firing at each other anymore, which was critical to avoid escalation—potentially leading to military action within 24 hours,” Marin commented, commending Trump’s leadership for preventing further conflict.

“In this situation, there was a strong leader in the White House who managed to halt it before it escalated,” he stated, asserting that the war in Ukraine wouldn’t have happened under Trump’s watch.

“He was able to prevent this situation, and I understand why,” Marin concluded.
