Senate Colleagues Trying to ‘Destroy’ Conservative Supreme Court

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on FNC’s “Fox News Sunday” this week that his Senate colleagues are trying to “destroy” the Supreme Court’s conservative majority.

“We’ve had a terrible situation where the United States Senate and House of Representatives decide which cases the Supreme Court will hear,” Graham said. “The bill he spoke about died on the Senate floor because it would have allowed lower court judges to challenge Supreme Court justices. This is a constitutional overreach. They’re trying to micromanage the Roberts Court. They don’t like the fact that Justices Alito and Thomas are conservative judges, so they’re trying to destroy them.”

He continued, “Donald Trump has changed the Supreme Court. They’re squealing like pigs because the Supreme Court is no longer a political institution. The Supreme Court actually looks at the Constitution and makes constitutionally correct decisions, not political decisions. That’s the problem liberals have with the Supreme Court.”

Graham added, “So if Democrats can’t convince the court that there’s something wrong, they will lose, because most Americans believe we are less safe under a President Biden than we were under President Trump. My close friend Chris Coons has said a good argument can be made that we are safer now than we were under President Trump. And if you believe that, then you shouldn’t be allowed to drive. That’s absurd. That’s dangerously wrong.”
