The U.S. Senate on Thursday voted 72-11 to reject a resolution introduced by independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders that would have potentially frozen aid to Israel.

“The Senate will soon vote on my resolution directing the State Department to report on any human rights violations that may have occurred using U.S. equipment during Israeli military operations in Gaza. Asking how it will be used should not be up for debate,” Sen. Sanders tweeted. “We should all want this information. If you believe, as I do, that the war was indiscriminate, we must ask this question. If you believe you have done nothing wrong, this information should support that belief.”
