Car Crash in Los Angeles Grocery Store Claims Lives

Three individuals lost their lives and several others sustained injuries when a vehicle crashed into a grocery store in Westwood, Los Angeles, on Thursday, as reported by local authorities.

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) stated that they received a call at around 12:11 p.m. regarding the accident, which occurred on Westwood Boulevard.

Authorities confirmed that the fatalities were pronounced at the scene. An LAFD representative mentioned during a press conference that a total of nine people were involved, leading to a request for additional ambulances.

“This is currently being treated as a traffic accident,” the spokesperson noted.

It appears that the driver, who is elderly, may have been trying to block a cyclist when the crash occurred. Further details revealed that among the nine patients reported, three had sadly died, two were in critical condition, and two others in moderate condition; a couple even declined transport to the hospital.

There was also a report that a person became trapped under the vehicle.

First responders efficiently removed the vehicle to gain access to the injured. Additional firefighters and paramedics were requested to provide urgent medical assistance.

As for what caused the crash, investigations are ongoing, although a silver sedan was noted in front of the store.

This situation is still developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
