Sheriff Looks Into Student at VA Filming Peers in Bathroom Stalls

Investigation Underway at Loudoun County High School Over Bathroom Recording Incident

The sheriff’s office in Loudoun County, Virginia, is looking into allegations that a student at Freedom High School was secretly recording peers in a bathroom on campus.

Principal Tania Brown informed parents in an email late last month that administrators had received a report regarding a student filming another student in the bathroom, prompting a law enforcement investigation.

In a subsequent email sent last week, Brown alerted parents that this incident was not isolated, urging anyone with further information to reach out to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports from 7News’ Nick Minnock, multiple sources indicate the student under investigation identifies as transgender. There are claims that over the past three years, there may be more than 40 potential victims involved.

Loudoun County Public Schools is collaborating with the sheriff’s office to probe the claims, but they seem to reject assertions that the student involved identifies as transgender.

In a statement, the district emphasized, “These are serious allegations that we take very seriously. Loudoun County Public Schools is committed to transparency and will continue to provide accurate information to our community while adhering to legal requirements regarding the privacy rights of our students and staff.”

Furthermore, the district spokesperson noted that no reports have surfaced indicating that the students involved were using restrooms that do not align with their biological sex.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that an investigation is ongoing; however, they have not yet verified the number of victims.

This school district, situated about 40 miles from Washington, D.C., has faced a string of controversies concerning policies that allow transgender individuals to access facilities corresponding with their gender identity.

Currently, the district is embroiled in a legal dispute with the parents of two students who were suspended last year for alleged sexual harassment related to a transgender girl being permitted in the boys’ locker room.
