A shirtless slave suspect took off in a police car in Florida, pulled an unsuspecting woman, stole the car and crashed it before he was eventually taken into custody, officers say.
The dangerous drama is said to have been that 52-year-old Armando Lopez tried to kill his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend during a debate at Key Largo on December 22nd.
According to the arrest affidavit, he threw her into a glass object, beat her badly, telling her, “Today will be the day she dies.” He is also said to have stuffed his mouth with a wet clean with Fabuloso, a chemical cleaner.
“My father attacked my mother in my house, my house, to death,” Lopez's assaulted daughter told the 911 operator. Local wplg.
While authorities responded to the 911 call, Lopez attacked Monroe County Sheriff's Office Sergeant. James Hager has already arrived at the scene, officers said.
During the struggle, Lopez tried to steal the aide's gun from his holster but failed, authorities said. Hager also attempted and failed Taser Lopez.
It is said that Lopez later signed up for Hager's police car and speeded up.
“He stole my police car!” I hear Hager say in bodycam footage that it only surfaced last week. “He's running northbound. The lights are on. He tried to take my gun from my holster.”
Dash-cam footage of the police car shows Lopez driving irregularly on the highway, pushing 100 mph.
At one point, he begins to flash the lights and pulls the unsuspecting 46-year-old woman with an SUV where she was under the impression that she was being welcomed by a real police officer.
Lopez pulled the woman's door and repeatedly told her to get out of the car, officers said. She was apparently confused, unsettled and unsettled as Lopez finally abandoned the stolen cruiser and took off in her SUV, authorities said.
Soon he crashed his SUV and rolled over on the highway. He was pinned under the car when the officers rolled over and eventually took him into custody.
Lopez remains in the MCSO prison. He is being held unconfined on a number of different accusations, including those who ran in a run from authorities, including impersonating an officer or escape from law enforcement.
